In My Dreams

There
are days I find myself standing in lush green grass, as the ocean
breeze blows across my face, whipping my hair around so wildly.
The power of the wind, and the ocean giving me a sense of
freedom as I gaze from above and see the ocean waves crashing against
the cliffs.  The energy and power of nature surging through me
as I take in with all my soul what it has to offer.  The
smells of the lush grass, and ocean breeze invading my senses as I
dreamily close my eyes and take in every smell, every sound, every
sensation that emanates such great power.

With my eyes closed I feel the warmth of his hand take my hand in his,
and without words he leads me down a trail that leads down to the
shores of the ocean.  Hand in hand without spoken words, with
his touch we simply become one.  As we reach the shore, the
winds are stronger and the crashing waves louder against the cliffs,
feeling all the more powerful, as it’s pure form of energy flows
through us.

He takes his hand from mine and moves behind me, wrapping his arms
around me tightly, as I lean back into him.  Still no words
are spoken, our minds, our souls are as one.  The bonding, the
loyalty, the overpowering love so complete within each others arms.
There is no other love so complete as when the minds and
souls have merged as one.

I can feel the cold steel of his armor against my back, and know the
time is near.  He leads me down towards the cliffs, and within
the cliffs is a hidden cave.  Taking me deeper and deeper
inside the cave, we come to a place where there are other women and
children.  Some sitting quietly, some crying in pain, others
fearful.  He leads me in and finds a spot for me, both of us
knowing he is leaving for war.  As he pulls his hand away from
mine, it feels like part of my heart has been torn from me, as he
leaves for battle.

Days and weeks went by, women and children were sick, and dying.
I waited, waited, and waited, which seemed like a lifetime,
and as my body became weak, I fell into a deep sleep.  Upon
awakening, I found myself upon a large boat.  A grand boat
with intricate carvings, and amazing woodwork.  I could not
understand the language of the crew, though they were kind to me, and I
did not know where they were taking me.  Although kind, they
kept their distance from me, while still providing food and water, and
whatever was necessary for the journey.

Weeks past as we sailed over the ocean, and finally we came to port in
a place I had never seen before.  There were so many people,
so much commotion, so much confusion.  Two of the crew members
led me off the boat, and guided me towards this gentleman, who was
dressed quite wealthy, with a calm demeanor, dark hair, with the
darkest of dark eyes, yet his face was gentle.

He took me by the arm and led me to his horse, and had me ride upon his
horse behind him.  We rode for hours and hours without
stopping to break,  when finally the road turned more into a
trail lined with trees on either side, and the stride of the horse
slowed down as we came to a large opening.  Then came into
view a wondrous mansion,  the beauty took my breath away.
As we approached the front, a stable boy was immediately
there to take care of the horse, and I was led into the mansion.
Servants were running around everywhere, and I was thinking
is this to be my life now, as a servant?

He pointed to two of the servants who led me up to a grand room filled
with the most beautiful furniture I have ever seen, and a large four
poster bed.  Upon the bed lay an emerald green gown, I could
not keep my eyes off of it’s beauty.  The two women begin
drawing a bath for me, and bathed me, then fixed my hair and dressed
me.  I still did not understand the language of these people.
Then a large necklace made of emeralds and diamonds was
placed upon my neck, and I was led down to a large dining area where
there were many, many people, and was seated next to the gentleman that
had brought me to his mansion.

I watched, listened, enjoyed the food, though was still completely
confused as to what I was doing here.  When dinner was over,
the gentleman of the mansion led me up to my chamber, which I assume he
chose for me.  As we approached the door, he opened it, and
waved his hand for me to enter.  Then I heard the door close,
and being locked as he walked away down the hall..

After several months, he stopped locking the door at night.  I
suppose he was confident I would not try to run.  He gave me
freedom to roam the mansion and the grounds but always made sure
someone was with me.

He was very quiet in nature, and very kind to me always.  He
did travel a lot, which I assume was for business purposes.  I
still did not know why I was here in this place, yet I felt safe, but
in the back of my mind I knew this was not to be forever.  My
heart ached for my warrior soul mate, and I knew this was not the end,
but the beginning of a new journey.
